Ask Boldly

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that is at work within us In Joshua 15:17-19 there is an interesting story about Caleb's daughter named Achsah. Caleb gave his daughter to Othniel because Othniel had successfully captured Kiriath Sepher. But Achsah was no ordinary woman. She learned from her father who at the age of 80 dared to say, "Give me this mountain!" Achsah persuaded her husband to ask for a field from Caleb, her father. Not only that, she also went to Caleb to ask for a spring of water! And Achsah was given 2 springs, one upstream and one downstream. If we were in Achsah's position, we might think that marrying a great man like Othniel would be enough. But Achsah had the courage recorded in the Bible. Her courage to ask made Othniel receive more than he deserved. He received a wife, a field, and a spring of water to work his field. All just because Akhsa dared to ask her father.

Don't we also have a good Father? Who would not give a snake if His child asked for bread? Ephesians 3:20 says, “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask and think.” Let us ask boldly of our Father, He is able to give us far more than we ask or think.
