1 Samuel 1:17 Eli said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel will give you what you have asked of him.” Elkanah, who saw his wife crying, tried to comfort her by saying, “Am I not more precious to you than ten sons?” But Hannah was still sad. She wept before the Lord, in front of the priest Eli who thought she was drunk on wine. Hannah had the love of Elkanah, her husband, which was more precious than ten sons. It was as if Elkanah wanted to say, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t have children, because you have me.” But Elkanah wasn’t enough for Hannah. Hannah really wanted a child. Hannah believed that God could give her what she wanted, so she cried out to God. It was the right step because our God wants to give us more than what we think and pray for (Ephesians 3:20). He wants to give us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). Psalm 62:8 says “Pour out your heart before His presence.” Let us come to him for he is our Father. He is a very rich God, owner of the universe, and He loves us. He longs to bless us because through those blessings, we can be a blessing to the nations. Amen!
