Beloved Children

 Genesis 5:2 male and female he created them, and blessed them, and named them “Mankind” when they were created. Nothing in the Bible is written by chance. The long list of names and ages is not just a historical genealogy. It gives us a glimpse into the heart of God. Only a father who loves his children would take the time to name each one.

God sees us and knows not only our names but also every movement of our hearts and every dream we want to fulfill. He knows the number of hairs on our heads and what we are thinking right now. We are desired and cherished. We are the beloved bride he has chosen for his Son. We are the ones Jesus died for. We are the temple he has chosen to house his Holy Spirit. There is nothing about us that is ordinary or uninteresting to him. He is so pleased with us that he created eternity so that our relationship with him would never end.

Today, realize that we are part of God’s family. We are known, celebrated, and wanted. We have a Father who loves us unconditionally and accepts us as we are.

The Power of Words

 Mark 11:20-21 Early in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. Peter remembered what had happened and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed is dried up.” In Mark 11:14, the Lord Jesus cursed a fig tree. He simply said, “May no one eat fruit from you ever again!” and the next day, the tree dried up from the roots. How powerful words are! Notice, when the Lord cursed the tree, it did not immediately appear to die. It was only the next day that the tree appeared to have dried up from the roots. Why was that? In the NKJV, verse 20 says, “the fig tree dried up from the roots.” From the roots. When the Lord spoke to the tree, death immediately occurred! It just wasn’t visible because the death occurred from the roots and wasn’t visible in the leaves. At the Highest and Lowest Points

 Matthew 3:16-17 After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water and at that moment the heavens opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove on Him, then a voice came from heaven saying: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Jesus was baptized in the Dead Sea area, in the Jordan River. The Dead Sea is the lowest place on the entire surface of the earth, four hundred meters below sea level.
