Fruit in Perseverance

Luke 8:15 “The seed on the good ground is the one who, when he hears the word, keeps it in a good heart and bears fruit with perseverance.” Are we waiting for God’s promises in our lives today?

The Bible says that the seed that falls on the good ground “bears fruit with perseverance.” ‘Perseverance’ refers to patience and endurance. Do we know why perseverance is important in our walk of faith? Because it takes time for seeds to bear fruit. It doesn’t happen overnight. Just as a farmer patiently waits for the precious crop to grow, so too must we be patient (James 5:7). Our harvest will come in stages—first thirtyfold, then sixtyfold, then a hundredfold.

When a seed is sown, we don’t see anything happening right away, but we know that it will sprout and grow. We don’t have to keep digging in the soil to see if it’s growing. In the same way, when the seed of God’s Word is sown, our part is to have faith in the power of His Word and be patient, because we believe that His word will not return to Him void. And just as the earth produces crops gradually, “The earth brings forth its fruit by itself: first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear.” (Mark 4:28) Whatever we are waiting for today, whether it is healing, or restoration, let’s declare that we will reap the full harvest of God’s promises in our lives!
