God Continuously Guides Our Lives
Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. The word "works" in today's verse of God's word is in the active verb form (present active participle), which means that God is continuously working in us. The translation is, "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
What does God do in us? The first is "will", willingness. God continuously works in us by giving us the will from within. That's why, be careful with prophecies. Be careful if someone comes to us and says, "God spoke to me so that you give me a house, and God will repay and give you two houses," that is manipulation in the name of God. If there is no will in us, don't!
Furthermore, in the verse it says, "..nor work..", performance. When God works in us, God not only gives us the will, but God also gives us the ability to do it according to His will. So God works continuously in us by giving us the will and the ability to do it. This is how God speaks to us and guides our lives. If we know this truth, we will rest, because we know that God is continuously working in us and every step of our lives is controlled by God.
