Shut Up and Look
2 Chronicles 20:17 In this war you don't have to fight. O Judah and Jerusalem, just stand where you are, and see how the LORD gives you victory. Don't be afraid or surprised. Go out tomorrow to face them, the LORD will be with you.” When faced with danger or problems, our natural tendency is not to remain calm. We will think, try and work hard to find a way out. We can see that there are many stories in the Bible where when humans rest, God works. When humans work, Allah rests.
Pay attention to the verse above, "... just stand where you are... and look..." God's first command to Jehoshaphat was for them to remain silent and watch. The same command God gave to Moses when he was about to cross the Red Sea in Exodus 14:13-14, "...stand still and see the salvation of the LORD." Notice the words ‘behold salvation.’ Who is ‘salvation’? Jesus! Jesus is Yeshua in Hebrew which means Salvation.
In other words, when there is a battle to be fought, the best position to take is not to strategize or call around for help. The best position is to rest and look to Jesus. Jesus is the one who will give us victory because He is the one who will fight for us. Amen!
