Staying Strong Because of God's Promise

 Joshua 14:11 I am as strong today as I was on the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now for war and for going in and out. Caleb put all that God had promised him in his heart, his inheritance, when he was forty years old: “I will bring him into the land, and his descendants will inherit it.” Caleb kept God's promise in his heart for forty-five years. Forty-five years later, when Caleb was in the promised land, he was still as strong and healthy as when he received God's promise. When Caleb was eighty-five years old, Caleb said what was in his heart, “Give me the mountain range that the LORD promised me on that day.” Caleb was still young, still strong, and still as strong as he was when Moses sent him to war and to go in and out. What was the secret? Caleb kept God's promise in his heart. He knew that what came out of God's mouth was something that would definitely happen! Even though at that time Caleb was living under the law. Moreover, we who  live under God's grace. Because our guarantee is the blood of Jesus, not our good works, we can rest with a calm heart and await our inheritance.

The Power of Words

 Mark 11:20-21 Early in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. Peter remembered what had happened and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed is dried up.” In Mark 11:14, the Lord Jesus cursed a fig tree. He simply said, “May no one eat fruit from you ever again!” and the next day, the tree dried up from the roots. How powerful words are! Notice, when the Lord cursed the tree, it did not immediately appear to die. It was only the next day that the tree appeared to have dried up from the roots. Why was that? In the NKJV, verse 20 says, “the fig tree dried up from the roots.” From the roots. When the Lord spoke to the tree, death immediately occurred! It just wasn’t visible because the death occurred from the roots and wasn’t visible in the leaves. At the Highest and Lowest Points

 Matthew 3:16-17 After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water and at that moment the heavens opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove on Him, then a voice came from heaven saying: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
